what wedding flowers would match a clover and ivory theme?

March 82010

I am having my wedding this April. My wedding colors are clover and ivory and I am having a really hard time deciding what flowers to incorporate. Any suggestions?

I think clover and ivory sound like beautiful and versatile wedding colors! You can go anywhere with those colors.

You could have all ivory bouquets. Some great ivory or white flowers are roses, tulips, calla lilies, baby’s breath, amaryllis, and gardenias. I don’t know what your budget is, but calla lilies and gardenias can be pretty expensive, but they also look great even in small numbers.

You could also have arrangements in shades of ivory and yellow. Pale yellow gladiolus or hydrangea would be beautiful mixed in with ivory roses.

I’ve seen a lot of beautiful green bouquets lately. Cymbidium orchids, green gladiolus, ranunculus, and green spider mums would all look lovely. If you’re looking for some less expensive choices, green daisies or carnations would also be pretty. For fillers, you could use any variety of greenery or herbs. Hypericum berries are a favorite of mine. I think flower arrangements with shades of green and maybe a touch of white, pink, or yellow would be beautiful.

You didn’t say what colors the bridesmaids would be wearing, but if they are wearing green, I would tend towards white bouquets or something completely different for a pop of color. Almost any color flower would look great up against a clover green dress.

If you’re on a smaller budget, don’t be afraid to DIY your wedding flowers. You can find some great tutorials for DIY-ing your flowers. Also, http://www.savemoneyonawedding.com could help you get a great deal if you are looking to get your flowers from a florist.

I’m sure your wedding will be beautiful!

    anything yellow – tulips, daffodils.
    Green hydrangeas
    White /pink peonies
You’ll have to ask a florist what flowers will hold up best for the day.
