almost lost it a few winters ago but its back and good stems and leaves but never buds or flowers anymore. I have about six years of beautiful candy stripe red and white rose!

You say you almost lost it. It could be all sucker growth. Modern roses are grafted onto a different rose rootstock. Most are on Dr. Huey, an old climbing rose that only flowers in Spring(magenta small blooms). I know in eastern parts of the US roses are grafted onto multiflora rootstock. I’m not sure what that looks like.

Look really closely at the crown of the rose(that is where all the branches come together out of the ground. If they look like they are coming apart from each other and straight out of the ground, then you have suckers. You might have lost the Candy Stripe plant. I’m sorry. If you see some good canes coming together and others away, cut out the others. You might need to remove the whole plant.

I am currently planning my wedding (June 2008) and I am trying to figure out what type of flowers to decorate with as well as hold (both me and my bridesmaids) that would look nice with robin’s egg blue (with dark chocolate accents). Lilies are my favorite but finding blue lilies might be a problem, any ideas?

I did robin blue in my wedding for June as well. I did light blue, dark blue, soft pink and white flowers. If you love lilys then make sure your bouquet has them in there. You can do stargazer lilys for your girls bouquets. They look like this

However, I would talk to your florist and see what she thinks you should do. Any color will go great with blues and browns, but while you are in the shop take a look at some of the other flowers in there. You may see something that really catches your eye and you want to have for flowers. Remember that your flowers do not have to match the dresses, they need to accent them and bring out the color of the dresses.

It’s called Edging. Most common that everybody carries is green metal edging. Then in your larger retail stores you’ll find stone edging and maybe plastic or wood fenced edging.

If you picked edible arrangements, you are wrong. I called earlier today to have an arrangement delivered. They called my girlfriend to confirm and totally gave away the surprise. When I called to cancel the order, the owner did but promptly hung up on me before I could tell her my complaint. When I called back and asked for the corporate customer service number, she gave me a fake number. Use the little guy for whatever you can.

I accidentally saw someone feeding her rabbit rose petals.

Roses are safe for almost anything to eat, even people. As long as they have not been treated with pesticides they won’t harm the rabbit. Wild rabbits eat them and expecially like the rose hips, the fruits that form after the petals fall.

I am having a spring wedding. What flowers are in season and inexpensive? The colors are pale blush pink and pear green.

I have a brand new silk flower bridal bouquet, but the wedding isnt for 2 years! Is there anything I can do to store the bouquet to keep it looking as pretty and fresh as it does now?

Keep it in a dry location, place a bag over it to keep the dust off, and keep it out of sunlight and away from lightbulbs as constant light will start to fade the colors. Also don’t lay the flowers down to get crushed, keep them in a vase or something to keep them in their current shape.
